As avid environmentalists, the innkeepers have taken on a number of extra projects to turn their 1850 Victorian into a bed and breakfast with a small environmental footprint. In this way, guests can rest peacefully knowing that their luxury at The Fox and Owl Inn does not come at a great cost to the environment.
We encourage you to decrease your weight on the world, in this regard, but of course, there's no weight limit on suitcases arriving at The Fox and Owl Inn!

The majority of our light bulbs are high-quality warm LED or CFL bulbs. As incandescent bulbs need replacement, we always reach for a low-energy alternative.
The Fox and Owl Inn is powered entirely by solar energy. Every time you plug in your phone, flip a light switch, or sip your coffee, remember to thank the sun! Still, we hope that our guests will conserve energy so that we can give back to the grid and offset our neighbors' use of traditionally produced electricity.
To create habitat for local and migratory fauna, we plant flora which is native to Long Island. Our gardening practices leave the beds looking a little 'wild' sometimes, but you'll understand why when you see the unusual number of birds and butterflies around the yard!
